Pet and Animal Expo - Sydney - Nov.2003
Once again the Cavalier Club was in attendance for the 3 days at the 2003 expo and member Chris Smith entered the pageant of breeds in a new gown accompanied by dogs in the 4 colours. The club distributed hundreds of information packs and members were happy to answer questions and chat about the breed. We will be there in 2004.
Expo- 6th,7th & 8th December 2002
Our club participated for the first time, at the 2002 Sydney Pet and Animal Expo, held at Rosehill Gardens. Members of the club decorated the allocated breed stand with posters, framed cross stitch works, statues and paraphernalia depicting Cavaliers. Pens, keyrings, and other small items were available for sale, the proceeds going towards club funds and the rescue scheme. Very popular were the printed handout information on the breed and its care, dogs of all four colours were in attendance on each day, and enjoyed the attention from the admiring public. A King Charles Spaniel was also present to show the difference between the two breeds often confused by many people.
The Cavalier club was represented by member Christine Smith in the main arena, on the three days, taking part in the Pageant of Breeds. Christine, dressed in her finery had a dog of each colour to add to the parade spectacular. We were successful on Saturday by winning this delightful section of the show and proudly displayed the sash at our stand.
It was a very successful event indeed with people at times 3 deep across our allocated space, lining up to speak with us. Next year's Pet Expo is a long way off from now but it's clear many families were pleased to see us, if only to tell us about their own Cavalier and the wonderful relationship they have with them.
